With a four hour delay – we were each granted a $10 voucher to get whatever we want at the airport. Really? Wasted four hours of my time and with only a $10 voucher? I for sure will not take Air Canada ever again. Such a disappointment – especially with having a 18 month old flying with us. Screwed up our schedule!
Since we had lunch prior entering the gates – we were not hungry at all but what to do with $30.00 right? Had to use it up before we board the plane. Ordered a tea, two soups, and chicken wings to share for the hubby while Munchkin naps. At that point – I was already pissed about the four hour delay – I can’t give any food reviews upon this restaurant at the airport.
Saigon Star has the best seafood in town! It’s been a long week for hubby and so I thought – why not have a good meal to end off a work week right? His favorites are seafood and this is the best place to bring him to since he never been here. Instead of choosing curry crab we decided on garlic butter crab. It was yummilicious and the crab had a lot of meat in it. It was a huge crab for two to eat! But we had to finish it because we didn’t want to take it home.
We also order Pineapple Fried Rice & Baked oysters in Butter Garlic sauce.
Baked/Broiled Oyster was a to die for – if we didn’t order the large crab – I probably ordered half a dozen of oysters. It was so yummy! Can’t wait to be back next time!
Spring Rolls is one of our to go when we have a dinner date. I love their menu – how it’s very fusion. Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, and you name it. Whatever you want – they have. Hubby tried their new ramen special – he said it wasn’t bad but not the best.
Of course I had to order my all time favorite – sushi and sashimi platter with a side order of spider roll. It was delicious! The sashimi is extra fresh!
Dessert to finish off the night. Green tea & coconut ice cream.
An oyster or seafood fan? This place is for you! This will be our second time back here – first time was our two year anniversary and this time was for a friends’ birthday.
We ordered quite a lot of food for 4 people and 2 kids. It was basically a two family kind of date. The steak is to die for – I tried it the first time I’ve been here and I had to re-order this. So juicy and so tender. best part is the taste! MUST MUST MUST order it again next time!
The restaurant staff gave us a slice of cake as complimentary dessert too. How nice right?
If you want a fast and inexpensive lunch – this is the place to go. Lunch at $4.99 with a drink. I’m not a fan of Korean bento boxes but my husband is. The oil and amount of rice scares me. My husband and I are totally opposites – he eats twice as much as I do but doesn’t gain anything. I eat less than he does but I still do gain weight. You see the frustration? I wish my metabolism is like his – than I have nothing to worry about. Overall – lunch like this is not worth my calories but what can I say when the husband likes it?
Main Street Unionville is a busy street full of people and we love going there during summer time. It’s just nice walking outdoors after dinner time. Especially that we live 5 minutes away. This was my little Munchkin’s first time at the Firehall Confectionery – he was thrilled to see all the desserts and candies. I’m not a dessert kind of girl but their chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream is a must have! I love love love that ice cream! Thinking about it makes me crave for it. Overall – we had a lovely time that day visiting Main Street Unionville.
After a long week of work for the hubby and taking care of the Munchkin for me – it’s time for a nice drink and some nice food. We both enjoy a good dinner with cocktails. This time around – I didn’t order any cocktails – just wanna stay away from the calories for a bit. Besides – my plate of dinner was enough calories for that night.
We decided to head to Dragon Bistro at Main Street Unionville for some burgers and fish. This was our second time here but first time trying their burgers. The burger was marinated with some sorta spice that I really didn’t love. I can’t tell what spice it was but I won’t be ordering it next time. I ordered the Dragon Bistro Burger – if I remembered correctly.
Hubby ordered fish & chips. I took a few bites of his fish – it was very juicy and delicious – battered just right. Not too heavy or too light. It came with coleslaw and fries. That was our yummilicious dinner – there were no room for desserts.
