[Scarborough] Onion Steak & Seafood

Been to Onion Steak & Seafood for the third time. Not a fan of this place – the food is just very “not good” – well to me – it’s just normal. I really didn’t know what to eat here when I know were coming here. I don’t like any of their buffet selections at all. Very blend and tasteless. Good thing was – I wasn’t too hungry to start off with. So I just nibble some of their food. Didn’t eat a lot – just some.

Here’s what Hubby and I had. Not a lot to chose from at all.

Our other family members ordered sizzling plate with their meal.

Here’s the dessert we had.

I don’t recommend this place at all. Also – the buffet price raised a bit – so look out for that!

[Dufferin Mall] Swiss Chalet ;; Restaurant Review & Kids Meals

Had a yummilicious lunch with my best friend and her family at Swiss Chalet. This time at the Dufferin Mall location. Swiss Chalet never disappoints me with their food. Everything was yummy and even the kids were satisfied with their meal. When I looked at the kids menu for the first time – I didn’t know they served that many choices. Now I can’t wait till my son knows how to eat – so we will be dining at Swiss Chalet more often.

This is my usual – was feeling for the quarter chicken and baked potato. I wanted the fries also but it was hard to decide so I stick with the healthier choice. Well – I’m not sure if it’s healthy with the sour cream or not but at least I felt a little healthy. lol.

This is one of the kids meal ordered that afternoon. Pretty good – I wanted to try one piece of the chicken strips but resisted. Have you been to Swiss Chalet? Any comments about their restaurant chain? Love it or hate it?

[Scarborough] Inada Japanese Restaurant ;; Lunch Specials & Food Pictures

Visited Inada Japanese Restaurant for the second time. Both times I ordered from their a la carte menu for lunch. I do want to try their all-you-can-eat dinner one day but I never get a chance too. Have you tried their all-you-can-eat dinners? Any suggestions? Worth it or not?

They have a huge menu for their a la carte menu but I ordered from their lunch special menu which I forgot to take a picture of.

Love how they decorated their restaurant – very modernize! Love the Japanese style dishes as well.

Had a complimentary drink – way too sweet for my liking after the first sip.

My meal came with a salad.

and a soup – this soup was full of MSG – not my favorite.

My friend’s side dish.

My friend’s meal.

My other friends meal.

This is my meal – I ordered the Salmon Teryaki with rice. It was a delicious meal and love that they came with a lot of vegetables. It was a very tasty meal overall. My meal cost $4.99 and it came with a salad, soup and a dessert too. What kind of deal is this right? I love their menu selection – worth the price!

Here’s the mango dessert – I took a spoonful and that’s it. It’s not that I don’t like it – it’s just that I’m on a strict diet and I don’t want to eat food that has a lot of sugar. I’m very healthy conscious.

[Scarborough] Kenny’s Noodle Afternoon Tea Specials

When we wake up late – we usually make it in time for afternoon tea at restaurants. This time we headed to Kenny’s Noodle for their afternoon tea special. They have some decent price meals starting from $4.99 and it comes with a drink too. I had the red bean with ice cream cold drink and hubby had the lemon tea.

This is what I had at $4.99. The beef brisket didn’t taste that good – a bit too rough for my liking and the soup broth was not right. I prefer the beef broth instead of the regular broth. Other than that – they gave me a huge bowl of noodles which I couldn’t finish. It was definitely worth the money.

My husband had the fried chicken with fries at $4.99 as well. Both our meals were pretty cheap. Next time when we have afternoon tea – I’m going to try their other choices. I love how they come with a decent size drink. Definitely an inexpensive lunch we had. Have you been to Kenny’s Noodle before? If yes – what’s your favorites?

[Scarborough] Kenny’s Noodle ;; Lunch Meals

Having lunch with the relatives at Kenny’s Noodle as usual. We have our usual lunch here once every two weeks. This was my hubby’s meal. He doesn’t usually order this but I guess he wasn’t too hungry to order his usual baked cream sauce with ham & chicken spaghetti. This meal came with a drink.

I wasn’t feeling hungry as well – so I ordered a congee. Congee is nice to have once in awhile to clear out your system. My favorite type of congee is chicken congee – especially the homemade ones. I prefer it homemade because you can add as much ingredients you want in it.  What’s your favorite congee selection?

Here’s another picture of my hubby & my munchkin. He sure does know how to look at the camera when I snap photos of him. He’s not camera shy at all eh?

[Niagara Falls] Denny’s Restaurant

This is my first time at this location having Denny’s breakfast or could I say brunch. I’ve been to the one at Brampton. I’m not really a fan of breakfast itself because I never wake up on time for it. When I wake up – it’s usually lunch time already. I love my sleep and it’s quite hard to wake me up in the morning – even if it’s for food. Eventually I’ll have to wake up in the morning and make breakfast for my son and husband one day.

I ordered the 2 eggs, 2 sausage, hash brown, and 2 pancake meal for $12.95+tax. I’m not a fan of these hash browns because of the way they cut it up. I enjoy a one piece hash brown – the ones at McDonald. Breakfast is not hard to make at home. Just fried an egg and some sausage and whip up some pancakes. To be the price for this was quite pricey. Is this normal? I know for this quality – I can simply make my breakfast at home instead. With Cora’s breakfast – they at least take their time to make it for us. I feel like this breakfast was just throw on and serve it to your customer kind of thing.

Pancakes were good – way too much for us to finish. Two breakfast meal cost us $40.00CAD with tax and tips. So have you been to Denny’s breakfast? What’s your thought on this? Please share – so we know what your experiences is!

[Markham] Phoenix Restaurant — Food & Review

Been an busy afternoon searching for ukulele strings at music shops with a friend of mine. When it comes down to music stuff – I have a blank head because I know nothing about it. Good thing was – I brought a friend of mine that knows much more about musical stuff. That saved a lot of time. Otherwise – I probably spend a whole week looking for that particular thing.

Since we didn’t have lunch yet – we headed to Phoenix Restaurant at McCowan and Carlton Rd. Prior to this visit – I’ve been to this restaurant for no more than 5 times. To me – the food here is just ‘ok’ and I’m not too fond of their prices either. A bit on the pricier side for lunch or dinner. If I were to have this kind of food – I’d rather pay a little less and have the same thing. You know what I mean?

My friend’s meal -forgot what she ordered.

This is my meal – I ordered the Baked Cheese Tomato sauce with Beef Spaghetti. This meal cost about $10.00 including a drink. I usually have a budget for lunches because if I don’t and I eat $10 to $15.00 lunch meals every day – I think my credit card will be in debt. Budgeting to me is very important. My budget for lunches ranges from $5.00 to $7.00 and anything beyond that is pricy. In Markham or Scarborough -you can find a lot of places for lunch at that kind of price. Agree or disagree? Do you have a budget to follow?

[Scarborough] Nine Up Sushi — Restaurant Review

Finally a review on Nine Up Sushi !! I’ve heard a whole lot about this restaurant because of their convey belt sushi. I also heard that the food isn’t all that great here also. I had to try it out myself to know what it’s like. When my friend and I got there – it was around 2:30pm and they don’t serve sushi on the convey belt till dinner time. I was so bummed out. So instead – we ordered from their a la carte menu.

Not quite sure if this is the lunch special menu or the regular menu. The prices range from $4.99 to $9.99. A pretty big selection for lunch – I must say. All their lunches comes with a soup, salad, and dessert.

Here’s the salad and soup.

This is what my friend ordered for her meal – as I remember it was a $8.99 meal. Not too bad about the price right? It’s a huge lunch for her and she could barely finish it.

I ordered the Teryaki Beef on Rice for $4.99. Pretty decent portion at this price. I didn’t end up finishing up all the rice – a bit too much for me to stomach. Due to trying to lose weight after a baby – carbohydrates is one of the things I want to cut down. The teryaki tasted really yummy and love how it came with veggies.

It came with this dessert – unsure what this dessert is called though. Took a few bites – tasted very blend to me. Not much taste in it.

Next time – for sure I gotta try this convey belt experience. This is probably the only convey belt sushi restaurant I ever heard of. They do have them in Hong Kong and China. I’ve tried it in China before. It’s just a fun feeling that sushi rotates in a small plate and you just pick up whatever sushi you like. A very unique way of eating sushi.

Overall – the food was alright for me and a very reasonable price. Hopefully next time I try the convey belt sushi – it’ll give me a better experience than others did!
