[Markham] Fung Lam Court Chinese Restaurant – dinner review

I’m not really a fan of eating Chinese food in restaurants because I enjoy homemade Chinese food a lot more. But than having dinners with family – I don’t really have a say to where to go. This is my first time at Fung Lam Court Chinese Restaurant. To my surprise – the food is pretty good here. A bit on the pricier side but it’s decent food.

We went on a weekday – so the restaurant wasn’t busy at all – maximum of 10 tables that night. The servers were attentive and they kept changing our plates to a new one. It was like a 8 dish meal we ordered. Quite a lot of food for seven people eh? We always over-order and end up packing 1/4 of the food home.

Two lobster & a fresh fish

My favorite part is the dessert part! You don’t see this a lot in Chinese restaurant! We get to pick from a couple of desserts they have! Usually restaurants have either red bean soup or green bean soup! Look at what they offer here! Sesame, Pecan, and Peanut Paste! It was delicious! My favorite part of dinner! Dinner with tax and tips cost $180.00. A bit on the pricier side but it’s worth it. I do want to come back and try their dim sum.

[Markham] Royal Teahouse 君皇茶坊 – Dinner Review

Been here many times before and food here is average to me. All Chinese food is average to me – might be because I grew up having them all the time.

We ordered way too much food for four people. We had ‘the seafood’ – does anyone know what it is called? Sweet Sour Pork, Fresh Fish, Veg, Peking Duck, and the left over of Peking Duck with lettuce. Total of six dishes for four!

My favorite was the peking duck – it was fresh and a lot of meat. I don’t have them often – so I do kind of miss it. What’s your favorite at this restaurant? Any recommendations? Care to Share?

[Scarborough] Onion Steak & Seafood

Been to Onion Steak & Seafood for the third time. Not a fan of this place – the food is just very “not good” – well to me – it’s just normal. I really didn’t know what to eat here when I know were coming here. I don’t like any of their buffet selections at all. Very blend and tasteless. Good thing was – I wasn’t too hungry to start off with. So I just nibble some of their food. Didn’t eat a lot – just some.

Here’s what Hubby and I had. Not a lot to chose from at all.

Our other family members ordered sizzling plate with their meal.

Here’s the dessert we had.

I don’t recommend this place at all. Also – the buffet price raised a bit – so look out for that!

[Scarborough] Yogi Noodles — Inexpensive & Delicious Food

Yogi Noodle is one of my all-time-favorite. I love their food and not only is their food good – they are pretty inexpensive. This spaghetti bolognese cost $5.99 and it came with a drink too. It’s not only lunch – it’s all day long. Yogi Noodles has two locations. Scarborough location: Warden Avenue & Steeles Avenue. Richmond Hill location: Easter Beaver Creek & Highway 7.

This is what my husband ordered. His all time favorite at this restaurant – Baked Cream Sauce with Ham & Chicken Spaghetti. For $6.99 it came with a drink also.

This is what my brother-in-law ordered. Not sure about the price but it was a big bowl of noodles with lots of dumplings and veggie. Looks like a really yummy and healthy meal for sure. I highly recommend this restaurant. Not because it’s inexpensive but the food is very very tasty!

[Markham] Milestones at Highway7 & Warden Avenue ;; Restaurant & Food Review

Celebrated our son’s first birthday at Milestones. I thought it be meaningful to celebrate his first milestone at Milestones. Get it? Hahaha – I like meaningful things. I didn’t know they had a Prix Fixe menu when we got there – even more better. It was a 3 course meal at $25.00 each. These are not the appetizer that came with the meal. What happened was – they didn’t have the soup starter we wanted and we waited about half an hour for it. So they decided to give us complimentary appetizers. We get to pick 5 appetizers on their regular menu,

Bruschetta

Sweet Potato Fries

Garlic Bread

Main Course: Chicken – not quite sure the full name of this meal

Main Course: Grilled Salmon

Main Course: Steak with baked potato

I do not recommend their steaks here – it sucks and it’s rough! it’s my second time trying their steaks and there is no next time! I order medium and it shouldn’t even be a problem chewing it. But nope – my jaw was tired after the second piece of steak. I had to take it home and make noodles with it instead. How disappointing right?

Dessert: Cookie & Cream

Dessert: Peacan Belgium Dark Chocolate Cake

We even had a complimentary dessert for munchkin’s first birthday. It was nice of the restaurant. We had a waitress that was fairly new and she made a lot of mistakes for our orders and such. Good thing I was in a good mood – otherwise I would of been really mad and requested to change servers. I didn’t want it to ruin our mood too especially dining with the in-laws. Hopefully she’ll learn from all the mistakes that night. Overall – had a delicious dinner. Dinner lasted about 2.5 hours long.

[Scarborough] Kenny’s Noodle ;; Lunch Meals

Having lunch with the relatives at Kenny’s Noodle as usual. We have our usual lunch here once every two weeks. This was my hubby’s meal. He doesn’t usually order this but I guess he wasn’t too hungry to order his usual baked cream sauce with ham & chicken spaghetti. This meal came with a drink.

I wasn’t feeling hungry as well – so I ordered a congee. Congee is nice to have once in awhile to clear out your system. My favorite type of congee is chicken congee – especially the homemade ones. I prefer it homemade because you can add as much ingredients you want in it.  What’s your favorite congee selection?

Here’s another picture of my hubby & my munchkin. He sure does know how to look at the camera when I snap photos of him. He’s not camera shy at all eh?

[Scarborough] Kenny’s Delight — Food Varieties

Kenny’s Delight has been around for many years and we’ve been dining at this restaurant for man years too. They have different locations. The food is inexpensive and delicious. We love to eat out quite a lot and one of the restaurant we eat out with relatives is Kenny’s delight.

I ordered the Ma Po Tofu Rice for $5.99 for lunch that day. Boy – I could only finish half of my meal and save the other half for dinner. Kenny’s Delight serves really big portions. Have you been to Kenny’s Delight yourself? Any thoughts? Love it or hate it? I know some people dine here a lot and love their food!

[Niagara Falls] Coreana Korean Restaurant — WORST restaurant EVER!

I have no words to put it. This is absolutely the worst restaurant I’ve been to. The service sucks and so is the food. As the owner gave his reason why the service sucks is because EVERYONE wanted to take FAMILY DAY off so there’s no one working in the restaurant except him and the chef. REALLY? If you don’t know how to manage a restaurant on such busy day – you mind as well close down the restaurant itself. It was such a disappointment. When I dine out – I like to give the restaurant a benefit of a doubt and if the food is bad the first time we try – we would give it a second chance. But for this restaurant? No thank you!

I didn’t like much of their variety of appetizer. I did taste two of them and it tasted very blend to me.

This fried rice was a complete joke. As we ordered our meals – the owner did not write down our order. So our friend ordered “Pork Fried Rice” – instead when it got here – it was “Squid Fried Rice”. How annoying is that? We didn’t say anything than.

This is another dish for our friend – he said the salmon tasted very salty.

Oh god – here is my meal. What can I say about this? When I took my first spoon of soup – I was very mad. It was TASTELESS! I was really mad at this point because I was starving! This soup had no taste! WHAT THE HELL right? I was extremely mad and it was hard to get the owner’s attention because he was oh-so-busy dealing with other guests. When I got his attention – all I said was “this taste like nothing – nothing!” His excuse was that the chef just put the pork bone in the soup – usually it takes about 1 day to boil but it was just a couple of hours. To my surprise in my head – “WHY DID YOU EVEN SERVE IT THEN?” That didn’t make sense to me at all. What kind of chef knows that this soup is NOT ready and still serves it to its customer? Really? I was not thrilled. The owner said he’ll give me some other soup for FREE. I said “no thanks”. I left the restaurant hungry.

Hubby had the seafood soup noodle – he said the soup tastes really “like canned food” and the noodle wasn’t right. My husband isn’t the type to complain – but if I had this. I’ll explode. What kind of service and food is this restaurant serving? I don’t give a crap about how all his employees wants a day off! How ridiculous is this right?
