[Markham] Nak Won at Peach Tree Plaza ;; Excellent Service & Food

Nak Won is one of my favorite Korean Restaurants! They have a location at First Markham Place & Peach Tree Plaza. Although they are the same chain but the service and food sure isn’t the same. I prefer the Peach Tree Plaza restaurant! I love the friendly service and the delicious food here. What I look forward to every meal at this restaurant is their appetizers! Yep – look at the variety of appetizers they have! The potato, rice noodle, and fish cakes is my all time favorite!

My all time favorite – pork bone soup! I cannot not order this when I’m in a Korean restaurant! I have to have this every time – other than the tofu soup.

This looks delicious! I do want to try this out!

This is what my friend had – not sure what this is called? I think it’s the Chicken soup ?

This is what my husband had – he has it every time too!

Of course a picture after dinner – look at my humble family!

Group picture! This dinner was to celebrate two friends birthday. Don’t this picture look too perfect? It was an awesome dinner – not too busy that day when we dine there. We had a good two hours dinner with no distribution.

[Markham] First Markham Place Food Court

I had food court food at First Markham Place before but this is like the worst ever! The amount of oil they had was just disgusting to me. Hubby and I had this meal when we were sick with the flu.

This is what I had – pretty oily! Not a fan of that much oil. This is probably why I hardly eat food court meals now. It’s expensive and it’s not healthy. Do you eat out at food courts a lot?

[Home Cook] Simple Chinese Lunch Meals

My blog is full of food pictures at restaurants, you probably think I hardly or even NEVER eat at home. Truth be told – I eat 75% of my meals at home – I just never really took any pictures of it. I thought it wouldn’t be that appealing to anyone. So here it is – these are the lunches I usually make at home for myself. I try to have my lunches at home through Monday to Friday. For dinners – I’d like to stay home Sunday to Thursdays. I don’t dine out that much do I?

My favorite noodle is the rice noodle! I can have it every day but than rice noodle has a lot of carbohydrates which I’m trying to cut down on. So I eat rice noodles less now. I always have a variety in my lunches. It has to have meat and veg!

Here’s a pasta lunch meal. I hardly make pasta because again – the carbs is no good for me! So what do I end up eating than? Well – egg noodle is the best to eat. I eat it mostly because it’s healthy and less carbs. See how annoying it is losing weight? I don’t mind eating healthy now – I just have to make it in an habit.

[Scarborough] Kenny’s Delight — Food Varieties

Kenny’s Delight has been around for many years and we’ve been dining at this restaurant for man years too. They have different locations. The food is inexpensive and delicious. We love to eat out quite a lot and one of the restaurant we eat out with relatives is Kenny’s delight.

I ordered the Ma Po Tofu Rice for $5.99 for lunch that day. Boy – I could only finish half of my meal and save the other half for dinner. Kenny’s Delight serves really big portions. Have you been to Kenny’s Delight yourself? Any thoughts? Love it or hate it? I know some people dine here a lot and love their food!

Firefly at First Markham Place

PASSION4FOOD 060

This is another long overdue post – we had dinner with a family friend at Firefly just 2 weeks ago. Firefly used to have the lobster and steak meal and hubs and I would always share it. Too bad this time – they changed their menu and no longer have this special anymore. But that’s alright – that allows us to try other things on the menu right? All our meals came with a soup. You can either chose vegetable or cream soup – I choose the cream soup.

PASSION4FOOD 061

Hubs choose the sizzling plate with steak and French fries. I love the fries with gravy – it was warm and yummy. I stole a couple of pieces from him. The steak was pretty good too – very tender. I think I’m going to order this next time!

PASSION4FOOD 062

I ordered the fish and spinach with cream sauce. Not what I expected – but it was alright. The fish was a bit too salty for my liking though. There we’re too much fish and I had to pack two pieces home. This meal was pretty pricey at $17.99. I guess the fish was the pricey part eh? Overall – dinner was alright. Firefly is always a go to restaurant for either lunch or dinner. Next time I would love to try the sizzling plate.

Pixel @ Buroak & Kennedy Rd

PASSION4FOOD 058

Hubby and I love going to Pixel for lunch or dinner. They have meals at a very affordable price. I love going here because of the atmosphere and the food. The service is alright – it’s usually very packed during school lunch time hours! One thing I love about this place is their red teas and green teas that comes with the meal.

PASSION4FOOD 059

This is my all time favorite – Terriyaki Chicken with rice. This rice is different than Chinese rice. It has a sticky feeling to it. I think that’s one of the reason why I always order it. I like the sticky feeling of it. My meal cost $5.99 while Hub’s meal cost about $4.99 – very inexpensive for either lunch or dinner!

California Thai menu change

PASSION4FOOD 063

One thing that attracts me to California Thai was their special menu. But the last time I went – they took it off. I was shocked because I knew what I wanted to eat and the price attracted me to this restaurant. But if they don’t have dinner special anymore – why should I go to this restaurant right? I love their California Thai at $7 to $8 a meal but now? It’s $11 to $12 a meal. That’s a huge difference eh? And it came with a drink too. I didn’t know they change the menu but if I did – I would of went to some other places for my favorite Pad Thai.

But nonetheless – we decided to try other things from the menu. Hubs decided to get the wonton soup. Nothing too special – I can make this at home too.

PASSION4FOOD 064

I ordered the Lemongrass pork chop with rice – the pork chop was way too salty. I couldn’t gobble it down alone. I hope they have the special back on! I want my pad thai back!
