When I’m lazy and don’t feel like making dinner or even going out for a meal. McDonald would be something I would have. Hubby and I both had the Mc Chicken Combo – we used the 2 can dine coupon that we printed off on their website for $9.98. A couple buck savings is not bad eh? A McDonald combo can be quite pricey. From what I remember – Big Mac Combo is almost reaching to $8.00! Why must unhealthy food be that pricey? I’m sure it’s a lot cheaper in the States!

[Markham] Oban Sushi at Bur Oak – Food Review
I’ve been trying out a couple of new restaurants and Oban Sushi is one of them. This restaurant is located on 16th Avenue and Kennedy where the Bur Oak plaza is. Instead of All You Can Eat for lunch – we ordered their bento boxes. They do have a special lunch menu – ranges from $4.99 to $23.99. Click on picture to enlarge the photo for better view.
Their special menu comes with a salad, soup, and a drink.
I ordered the Salmon Teriyaki beno box for $4.99 while my hubby had the Sushi & Sashimi Platter for $8.99.
Overall – everything was good with my bento box except the rice was a bit on the hard side. I can’t really judge this restaurant yet because it’s only my first time here. I’ll give it another try next time to see if the rice will be still as hard. Sushi rolls were delicious. Have you been here before? Any recommendations?

Rating: 4 star[Scarborough] Asian Legend at Sheppred & Brimley Ave ;; Restaurant & Food Review
Asian Legend has been around for a good 4-5 years now. I’m really surprised this restaurant lasted for this long – not because their food isn’t good but if you live in Scarborough/Markham area – restaurants don’t last that long. They change names a lot. So that was why I was surprised because it’s been a good 4-5 years!
The food in this restaurant is pretty good – more on the spicier side. Well at least that was what we had that night. 3/5 of the dishes were quite spicy. I guess for those that love spice – this is definitely a restaurant you should go!
This is the Stir Fry Eggplant – pretty good!! I love the sauce and it’s very tasty.
Forgot what this is called but it was a little blend to me. Not as tasty as the eggplants!
Pineapple Chicken Fried Rice
Not sure what this is called either. But darn – it was SPICY!
Kung Po Chicken! One of my favorite dish that night!
Fried Shanghai Noodles
Overall – dinner wasn’t so bad. A bit on the spicy side but I could handle it. About $13 per person for 6 plates of food + 3 bowl of rice for 6 people. We were pretty full too.
Dishcrawl Scarborough – Review & First Experience
How should I start this post off as? Let me start it off with one word – “AMAZING”! It was my very first time experiencing a Dishcrawl Event. Before coming to this event – I had no idea how it would go. Of course – I was very curious of what restaurants we’ll be going to that night but again – I had a lot of questions in my mind. Would there be enough food to fill up my tummy? Would the food be awesome? How many people would be attending this event?
Dishcrawl Ambassador, Jennifer! You gotta meet her – she has a very charming personality!
My first Dishcrawl event was FABULOUS. My husband and I had a blast that night – especially at the end of the night – the dessert was what did it! Till this date – I’m still thinking about that funnel cake we had that night! Jennifer did an awesome job selecting the four restaurants! I will definitely be going to more Dishcrawl events in the future – you really can’t miss it! That means – I’ll need to lose off the extra pounds in order to join these Dishcrawl events. There was more than enough food for my stomach – the choices of restaurants were amazing! I love how the owner introduced themselves and gave a little history about their restaurants – I’ve learned quite a lot that night!
Let me talk a little more about the Scarborough Dishcrawl event that happened on March 27th 2013 (Wednesday). We met up at Pho Metro (a Vietnamese restaurant) – I didn’t know that was our first destination at all but when we got there – we figured it was. We got our names checked off and by 7:15pm – Jennifer gave us an introduction of the event. Then all we did was eat for the rest of the night! We stayed in each restaurant about 40 minutes.
Our number 1 stop was at Pho Metro.

Overall, I love the variety of restaurants Jennifer chose. It was a memorable experience for all of us who attended. I will definitely be joining future Dishcrawl events! Don’t forget to check out Dishcrawl website to find out where the next Dishcrawl is!
[Markham] East Side Mario at Markville Mall ;; Review & Food Pictures
East Side Mario at Markville Mall is actually my first time. I did try out another location downtown but not my favorite. I’m just not into their Italian soups – I don’t mind too much about the main course but the soup is not my favorite. The services wasn’t too great here either. We had dinner with 4 people and with the all you can eat soup and salad.
This is the appetizers we ordered – a bit on the greasy side
Forgot what this soup was called
I think this is called the Wedding soup?
The Caesar Salad was pretty good! It came in a large bowl for us all to share.
One of the main courses
Another one
And another one
I ordered the meat sauce spaghetti – it tasted alright. I can’t say fabulous. But just alright. I’m not a huge fan of Italian food – so I can’t really say much about it. Would I come here for a second time? Probably not – not my favorite cuisine to have.
[Markham] Swiss Chalet at Markville Mall ;; Take Out Dinner
What’s better to have than a take out dinner at home? Yep – when it’s freezing out – I try to avoid going out as much as I can. Times like this – we order Swiss Chalet take out and my husband picks it up. We have our usual – quarter leg chicken dinner and it comes with a side dish. The price is around $9.00-$11.00 for each.
This is my meal – I do have a couple of favorites at Swiss Chalet but I was craving quarter chicken this time. I love the Chicken Caesar Salad and the Chicken Wrap too. The Chicken wrap is very meaty and filling and I love it! What’s your favorite when you dine at Swiss Chalet? Care to share?
[Markham] Nak Won at Peach Tree Plaza ;; Excellent Service & Food
Nak Won is one of my favorite Korean Restaurants! They have a location at First Markham Place & Peach Tree Plaza. Although they are the same chain but the service and food sure isn’t the same. I prefer the Peach Tree Plaza restaurant! I love the friendly service and the delicious food here. What I look forward to every meal at this restaurant is their appetizers! Yep – look at the variety of appetizers they have! The potato, rice noodle, and fish cakes is my all time favorite!
My all time favorite – pork bone soup! I cannot not order this when I’m in a Korean restaurant! I have to have this every time – other than the tofu soup.
This looks delicious! I do want to try this out!
This is what my friend had – not sure what this is called? I think it’s the Chicken soup ?
This is what my husband had – he has it every time too!
Of course a picture after dinner – look at my humble family!
Group picture! This dinner was to celebrate two friends birthday. Don’t this picture look too perfect? It was an awesome dinner – not too busy that day when we dine there. We had a good two hours dinner with no distribution.
[Markham] Level Up Restaurant — $19.99 5 course dinner
Where do you find a five course meal at $19.99 these days? And with decent food too! No where but Level Up! $19.99+tax+tips comes with a soup, salad, drink, main course (lobster & steak), and a dessert. I love the soup!
I’m not a fan of salads but I can tell they put a lot of ingredients and effort into this salad. Not sure what’s the name of this salad – the sauce was yummy.
This is the main course we had – lobster plus steak and your choice of either rice or spaghetti. The lobster was baked in cheese – very very very very delicious. Blogging about this meal makes me very hungry already. Steak was good too – I have no complaints. I did pack half my food home because I was already so full.
Not sure what this dessert is but it was super sweet. I took a bite and that was it for me. I’m cutting down on sweets as much as I can these days because of my weight. Losing weight is quite hard for me – especially I am a food lover myself. I love to eat but I gotta watch out for it now. The food was good and the service was awesome! You’ll be expecting us more often Level Up!
Of course our munchkin came to dinner with us. He was well behaved and sat in his car seat throughout dinner.
